  • Unable to export letterboxed Quicktime

I’m trying to export an uncompressed NTSC 4:3 letterboxed Quicktime from a DVCPro 720 24p timeline. No luck. I can only get 4:3 cropped, or 4:3 squeezed, but not letterboxed, even though I check preserve aspect ratio using letterbox if necessary. I’ve tried both Export Quicktime Movie with various codecs including Uncompressed, and Quicktime conversion, including Uncompressed. I’m using FCP 10.1.4 on a Dual Quadcore MacPro with Kona LHe. Any ideas? Thanks.

Nest the sequence in a 4:3 NTSC uncompressed sequence. HD isn’t ever 4:3.. so you need to get it to SD I’d think…
