Audio Hum-Need Removal Tips
I have a line hum in the audio of a recent shoot. I need to remove it. Does anyone have any good tips? I have FCP and STP.

Use STP, set your noise print and then reduce the hum. I have seen more detail about this in past posts, I am sure a search would bring up plenty of info.

Line hum is either 50 or 60 hz depending on country. A notch filter can be used set to the frequency, rather than using STP to noise reduce. YOu can usually get a cleaner removal with good tight notch filtering.

I’ll second that, we just tried that here the other day and it does work very nicely. Once you launch STP, you can go into the Help menu and search for Noise Print to get detail on how to use it. Better than anything within FCP.

CAn you give a little more step by step. Is this using FCP or STP?
I’ve tried the set noise print and that really didn’t help much at all.
Someone has also suggested using a comb filter, but I can’t find one anywere-FCP, STP or Audition. -
There have been several posts that give detailed instructions on how to do this using sound track pro like I said before, the sound track pro manual also gives instructions.
