This is my first time to capture and use HDV. It captures fine, but on playback it is skipping frames, and it seems to be consistant. Is this just the way fcp plays back HDV or should i be seeing this play back smooth as silk. Do I need to drop resolution or something to get smooth playback. I can easily use whjat I am seeing, but im curious.
    any help would be appriciated

System = quad g5, aja Lhe, 2 tb storage, 3 gig of ram latest FCP
    Ingested Firewire, HDV 1080i

As long as your Easy Setup is set to the correct HDV preset, your media drives are fast enough and you have no filters applied to the clips, playback should be normal.
