    Hi,

I’m just wondering if there is any way to set up a network render or multiprocessor render for FCP from the timeline.

I’m setting up a small mac mini render farm for after FX, Maya, Motion and compressor related tasks. Is there any way for FCP to take advantage of it.

I should say my current primary machine is a dual 2ghz G5 with Kona LH 6 gigs of RAM and esata Lacie S2s. We do alot of DVCPRO HD and rendering graphics (photoshop etc.) and color correction really slow us down.

We’ll soon be picking up an 8 core and FCS2. Maybe much of my rendering concerns will be moot with the unified timelines and faster processors.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Nope. Sorry. Shake…yes. Compressor…yes. FCP…no.

Final Cut Server is coming this summer, its used to store and get clips from multiple computers including Windows PCs. This could also have the ability to render final Cut timelines on multiple computers.

Yes, I saw that at NAB. It looks more like an asset management tool. Do you have hard info about how it could be utilized for network rendering?

    Thanks for the input all.

Yeah it is just an asset management tool, I was just hoping!
