    I`m just about about done editing a short film for an up coming festival here in Sydney.
    I`m not really happy with the quality of a slow motion sequence.
    The footage has been shot on a SONY Z1.
    I`m familiar with GOP structure of the Z1 , is this an issue in obtaining a perfect slow motion.
    I`m eding in HDV then transfering the all sequence on a DV sequense for final DVD output.

    FCP’s slowmo ain’t all that regardless of the source format, tho surely HDV won’t help.
    you might want to try using the compressor method for a higher quality slomo

    Shake, Motion, and After Effects will all give you better slo-mo than FCP. Also, if you had used the AIC instead of native HDV the slo-mo would have come out better. I’ve found tons of reasons to never edit HDV natively always using AIC, and not one reason to edit native HDV.

    Why I edit in HDV you ask… well it look ok no artifacts or bands etc etc. not at list at this stage anyway, But I`m eager to try your suggestion.
