Sucking Particles
Posted by Imhere460 on February 8, 2007 at 4:27 amI am currently trying to make a group of particles to be thrust out from a layer and as they slowly move towards the screen I want to get all of the particles to be sucked into one point. Is this possible? Appreciate your time!

February 8, 2007 at 5:01 amMethinks you should fool around with Distort>CC Flo Motion, and maybe a few masks to clean up spills (you’ll see what I mean. This plugin really sucks, in a good way (crank up the Amount 1 or 2).

February 8, 2007 at 5:07 amWhat particle system are you using?…If you are using Particular I don’t *think* this is possible, however I can’t speak for other particle systems like Particle Playground. You can do things like this fairly easily in Maya, however.

February 8, 2007 at 6:15 pmBe aware that trying to reverse-program the physics of any particle system is difficult. They’re all designed to thrust and spew, not suck and chew.

February 8, 2007 at 9:26 pmTrapcode Particular has a setting in ‘Physics/Air/Spherical Field/Strength’ when set to a negitive value it will suck particals.
I used it when slowly turning text to smoke then quickly sucking the smoke away.
