trouble in custom setting: broadcast safe filter
Hi, i need to deliver a tv program for a public tv channel, i need to fit into the safe broadcast levels for that.
Using the “extremely conservative” option is not enough, so i made some corrections using the “custom – use levels below” and that seemed ok. in the fcp

Strongly urge you to contact your station and ask to talk to the engineering staff. Ask if there isn’t some way you can bring in your file and have them make the corrections for you.
Or recommend a house to help you with this.Find out what they need for delivery. If they are accepting a digital file, their playback management system should be able to handle the levels for you — but they won’t do it for you. It will be against their policy.
They probably accept digiBeta or other standard tape formats. Find out which one and find a shop in town that will make the tape for you while running your show through a proc amp/diagnostic system.If you keep trying to mess with yourself, you’re going to get nowhere. But, if you’re going to keep messing with it, make a complete backup copy of your edited master’s media files and play with the copies of your media.

i can make it by -prior to it- lowering video and croma levels, then applying Broadcast safe filtering, but i want to make it faster and apply just “BS” filter to the entire clip.
what ive found is that after filtering there is some “remaining” above the safe level.
do you know why is it happening? is it normal? should i reduce video and chroma levels before “BS filter”? the thing is that the tv station is a very old one and theyre always looking for a 101 IRE to deny the work, s i need to be very restrictive. in the other hand i dont want to lower it too much.
