Edit on DVCPRO50 or 8-bit Timeline?
I have an upcoming promo video project that will combine shots from:
–50% New footage to be shot w/ HVX200
–25% Existing footage shot in DVCAM25
–Some FCP moves on stills (all are plenty big enough)
–Some graphics/titles from a vendor to be rendered in QT of my choice
–A few shots from old Beta SP tape
–A few extracts from a product promo DVD
Final output for client: standard DVD.The new footage will be shot with the HVX200, the format is my decision.
–Should we shoot DVCPRO50 and render the clips in an 8-bit timeline?
–Or should I set up the whole edit as a DVCPRO50 timeline (the existing DV25 has to be rendered to exist in the 8-bit timeline anyway)? Some of the new footage will be close-ups of LCD PC monitors showing software in action, so detail counts!
I know it’s NAB time, but I think this is an easy one for the experts out there…!
