April 13, 2007 at 1:51 pmWhy are you trying to make a DVD? Why not just make an H.264 quicktime file and play that on the laptop full screen?
You’ll need to buy Quicktime Pro for the laptop if it doesn’t have it, but I’d think it would be worth the price.
What setting did you already try for H.264? Make sure it’s keeping all the pixels and not shrinking it when it compresses.

April 13, 2007 at 2:08 pmthe more that I read the more using H.264 makes sense. I should have done that from the start.
my settings are:
720p
59.94fps
10.25Mbps
frame controls Offshould I make frame controls Custom just to make sure i am not shrinking anything? should I also increase the Bit Rate since I can send more info via the laptop?

April 13, 2007 at 3:21 pmFirst off, what laptop is it? You’re getting into a situation where you might have to tailor your clip to fit the hardware.
Here’s a guide:

April 13, 2007 at 4:10 pmI have a MacBook, 2 Ghz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB SDRAM, so from the looks of the Apple recommendations i should be able to play back a 1280×720 (720p) video at 24-30 frames per second out to a VGA cable and monitor?
