  • Easy way to delete reference movies?

Is there an easy way to find and delete reference movies in a huge project? I transferred a project that is about 180GB from two small drives to a much larger drive. Now every time I go to open my file it takes about 20 minutes while it runs through “searching for movie data”. I tried trashing my preferences which didn’t work. Someone recommended deleting all of the reference movies. I don’t know how to find them though.

    Thanks for your help!

Reference movies are files exported by FCP to… wherever you chose to put them. While they “know about ” and refer to the FCP project, FCP knows nothing about them after you create them.

So you need to search your drives for them. But the only positivbe effect on FCP will be that your drives won’t be so full.
