  • Help! Timecode/Duration Issues with FCP

    Greetings!
I’m having an issue with a two-camera shoot and the footage thats been captured. All the clips are nearly an hour long (verified by opening in QT) but I have several clips that show up in the Final Cut bin as being undertime (for example – clip 3b shows up with a duration of 1:04;02. IN point: 22:26:26:15, OUT point 22:27:20;15). I only have a minute or so of that clip showing up in FCP, however when I open the clip into QT I have the correct amount of footage (closer to 1:00:04;02)…
Can I just re-save these problematic clips out of QT to correct the timecode problem? If so, will it change the compression? (The footage was shot HD and imported at 780×420)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

[Stakelfarken] “for example – clip 3b shows up with a duration of 1:04;02. IN point: 22:26:26:15, OUT point 22:27:20;15”

Maybe you’ve just accidently set in and out points that don’t reflect the length of the original clip. Scroll across the browser and check Media Start and Media End timecodes.
