  Batch convert 32-bit audio MPEG-4?

  I’m working with a bunch of AVIs from a Casio Exilim pocket camera. They’re MPEG-4, with 32-bit mono audio. They import fine into FCP5, but it can’t handle the 32-bit sound, so every clip has the red render bar. (Yes, I’m using Casio’s plug-in, but it just handles the import via QT.)

  If I export the audio and downconvert to 24-bit using QTPro, I can sync it by hand in the sequence, and FCP doesn’t need to render.

  How can I do this in a batch? Is there some way I can just dump a folder of AVIs onto some app. and have it convert the audio to 24-bit? I’m going to be getting a lot of these files, and downsampling and syncing by hand is going to be a real drag.

  yeah, I tried Google FIRST, come here last.

  Was hoping someone had a workflow for batch downsampling and resyncing audio, since file lengths don’t change.
  Downsampling the audio is easy in Compressor. I just need a way to replace the 32-bit audio track with the 24-bit without syncing each clip by hand.

  Any suggestions?
