The new Quadro series was just announced:

It will include a new feature called “CUDA” which will allow regular C programs to offload computing tasks from the CPU to the GPU. Image processing tasks could improve >10x over what we’re currently used to.

Several blogs reported an interview with an Nvidia rep announcing the new products today. In the interview, he specifically discussed how Apple has had a very strong interest in it and how a future version of Final Cut can use this card to allow 4k editing with RT effects.

Perhaps this is the additional hardware that will be used for the alleged “Final Cut Extreme”. Guess we’ll wait and see.
