  Multiclip audio issue in FCP

  Hi – I am currently editing a 2 camera shoot and I’m trying to use the “Multiclip” functionality in FCP. Everything is working properly, however, I can’t figure out how to continuously feed audio from both cameras regardless of switching back and forth between camera angles. To clarify, there are two people having a conversation and I just want the audio to remain “on” for both people regardless of camera angle. The manual says it can have up to 24 “open” mic channels, regardless of camera angle.

  Please let me know if you need any additional clarification. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  you would have to merge both audio tracks onto each clip before you make a multiclip from it.

  beware this can cause multiclips to have weird sync issues, if the new audio track is longer than the original.
  the only way i found to get around this is to link the clips in the timeline,
  open them in the viewer,
  and make a subclip.
  this “trims” any excess audio,
  and makes the multiclips behave.

  alternatively, if you are cutting an event from the 2 cameras, and not messing with the timeline on your first pass,
  you could probably just lay both tracks down in the timeline against the multiclip.
