  • Advice Needed: FCP Effect Plug-ins

Posted by Framed on March 1, 2007 at 11:55 am

I am needing to get ahold of an effect plug-in for mist, snow, and (hopefully, if it exists) cold breath that can be added to a scene suppossedly shot in a very cold environment. Any advice on what plug-in package would have these effects.
    Cheers,
    Matt

Mist, snow and whatnot can be made with several plugins, Boris Continuum, and I think Sapphire, but breath would be tough, especially in FCP. I’d do these in Motion at the very least, but more likely in After Effects. These can all look very fake, it requires a subtle touch with a bunch of spatial paramaters, wind etc. to make them look real, not easy by any means. Good luck with the cold breath!

Motion does good with mist, snow, rain, smoke…stuff like that. You might even get it to do breath, but you have to know what you are doing. Subtle.

Also look and see what http://www.artbeats.com has to offer.
