Hi I’m new to FCP ,
I have a soronson file I chopped up in FCP.when I export it i got a black frame around the it .I would just like to cut it without any other changes to size, quality or frame rate. How can I export it without that annoying frame?

    tnx

More than likely you’re talking about the blanking area of the video frame. This is always present. More so in BetaSP and other formats. You can easlity crop out that area by using the cropping tools of your encoder. You didn’t say what app you were using for encoding to Sorenson? If using Cleaner or Compressor just adjust the cropping. Simple.

Most likely, that Sorenson file you chopped up in FCP is square pixels, and Sd digital video is non square pixels. You will either need to convert to a codec that FCP edits with (such as DV) or change the aspect ratio to reflect non square pixels, but you will get some distortion. FCP cannot edit Sorenson files natively so you are going to have to transcode at some point.
