    Hi All
    I’m trying to export several selected clips from a finished project in FCP timeline. When I select the clips and export as QT movie-self contained movie the entite timeline exports not my selecetd clips.??? any help…

    Two ways.

    1. Make one (or more) COPY(s) of the timeline and delete “around” the clip that you want to export.
    And then export that special short timeline.
    That way you can KEEP a version of the exported clip .

    2. Set an IN-point and and OUT-point marking the clip on the full timeline that you want to export.
    The export should then be only the portion you marked.

    I prefer #1.

    That assumes no “multi-layered” effects, or no edited/non-sync audio during that section.

    If you want to keep a version of the exported clip it’s a little more elegant to just turn that clip off (clip enable) in the timeline and leave it in place. Place the new clip above or below after reimporting.
