Correct resolution for 1366 x 768 display
Posted by Chris H on January 20, 2007 at 4:47 pmHi-
Wondering what is the best resolution to use for an after effects project that will be displayed on a 1366 x 768 resolution plasma. Would it be 1920×1080 or 1280×720?

January 20, 2007 at 7:05 pmYou could set a custom resolution.
If not, create a test (one of each size), and see what happens. It’ll probably be the larger one, but you should definitely test a workflow if you haven’t used it yet. -

January 21, 2007 at 1:05 amI’m not sure the size of the monitor is as important as what codec and workflow you will be using and what playback format will be used. Is it a DVCPro HD project? Uncompressed 1080i? HDV?
Or will you simply render out a quicktime movie in any given codec and will play it back off the hard drive?

It’d be 1280×720. But you can also send 1080 signals to that plasma and will look nice too. What format are you laying off of?

January 22, 2007 at 3:53 amI’m exporting to an M2v file. It’ll be played off a digital signage system, which uses a hard drive.
I assume the mpeg only can be exported in one of the 2 sizes…
Thanks for the info everyone! -
