    hey there

i discovered a new bin view (well for me it was new after 5 years on FCP). it’s like list view but has a video icon which you can scrub through with the mouse.

I found it by accident and have no idea how to “turn it on” as I cant find an obvious menu item to activate this view.

    can anyone help?

    thanks

You might try to open FCP help and search the word “thumb.”

    thanks David

forgot about the in menu help!!! hidden away in that cryptically labelled drop down menu called “help” …..so obvious i missed it 🙂

for anyone interested on getting thumbnails while in list view, you control click on the colums while in list view and select ‘show thumnail’. the scrubbing feature is really nice, gives you a visual preview of the clip…i’ve found it very handy…i think i remember reading it’s a new feature of 5.1.2 but for all i know its been there since version 1!!!

    thanks again
