  HDV – digitizing & sequence settings – with a Sony HVR-M25u

  New to HDV – I have a new Dual core 3.0 – and a new Sony deck – the HDV-M25u –

  What is the proper setup – for the Digitizing and sequence – ?

  Under the Audio / video setting menu – I can control the deck – only through the HDV 1080i60 setup –
  Sequence is HDV-1080160
  Capture preset HDV
  Device Control Sony HDV Firewire

  I thought you wanted to use – the Apple Codec ?

  help a lost soul please

  I would be happy to join / get / purchase and read any information about HDV workflow – when I have a free moment !

  I would also like to believe that a simple answer to the proper setting when dealing with this new Sony Deck – is not above this forum ?

  You’ll use native HDV with FCP, not the Apple codec. Just the same settings that work with a Sony camcorder are fine with the HVR-M25.
