When setting up After Effects, what pixel aspect ration should I use to be compatible with FCP DV NTSC 720 x 480? Should I use square pixels or one of the other presets?

    Thanks,
    Ruston

DV is non square. Isn’t there a preset for a DV project in AE? I’d think you should use that.

Yep, there’s presets for most all the formats we use in FCP and I just use those.

    Ruston,

The guys are correct, but you should read this excellent article just the same. I re-read it every so often as it is quite a complex issue. Simple little changes can mak big changes.

If you open a new Composition, when you choose a Prest, the pixel Aspect Ratio change according with the Preset. if you are working NTSC DV 720×480 (4:3) the pixesl should be D1/DV NTSC (0.9).
    Salud,
