  • recreating interlaced (?) frame stutter….

hello all, hope everyone’s holidays have been nice.

i’m attempting to recreate a certain stutter that occurs when i have my clip (an abstract animation) still in the timeline.

on my tv ( i use it as a monitor fed rca by a small consumer minidv camera i have firewired into the G5), depending on which frame it seems as though elements are flashing back and forth very rapidly creating when paused like this. the image/frame is still for the most part but because of this flickering a somewhat interesting 3d effect begins to take place.

i wanted to be able to send a live feed of this to a minidv tape. so that i could just hit my arrow keys advancing to different frames to time out the changes.

i imagine this effect has something to do with the display itself, but also wanted to avoid creating this by cutting still frames back and forth cause that would eliminate the “live” changes i could make.

i hope this is clear enough, i was hoping someone could explain this phenomena to me as i’m on a deadline.

    happy new year.
