Memory Crashes
I know there’s been talk about memory crashes with FCP. But I thought this was resolved. I just tried 6GB and then 3GB and crash-ola. (I have the RAM in the correct card locations – 2x1GB upper inside and 2×512 lower inside slots. The computer boots fine and shows the RAM ok. But, FCP crashed randomly. Removed, everything runs solid with 2GB.
Anybody using the same setup with more than 2GB?
OS 10.4.8
FCP 5.1.2
QT 7.1.3
Sonnet E4P SATA Card (2.1 which they say is intel approved w/more than 2BG RAM)
Sonnet Fusion 500P SATA Raid (w/5x320GB 3G Maxtor drives)Ernie Santella

Sounds like the RAM is still in the wrong positions. I have 4GB in a Mac pro Quad running with no issues. I originally had the RAM wrong and since we fixed that, all is fine.

2 1GB sticks on riser A, 2 1GB Sticks on Riser B. All matched Apple 1GB Sticks.
