    Hello –

I’m not very familiar with the audio filters in FCP and wondering if anyone has any advice for fixing some footage I have — it’s of a band and the audio levels of the camera were turned too high during their gig, thus making for some very hard to listen to audio, what with all the buzzing, reverberations, etc.

I know there’s better software to try to fix this issue, but am trying to avoid having to buy anything else. Any suggestions, within FCP? If you were to recommend other software, what would you suggest?

    Much thanks!

Audio that is clipped and over-modulated is basically ruined.

No filter will majke it right.

Now, consider that I have not heard your tracks, but from your description, its not possible to correct it with basic audio filters.

You can turn it down, but once it gets recorded with distortion… its a gonner.

    Sorry.

Thax is right. Your best bet would be to get the same song off the band’s CD and try to cut the video to the song to keep it as close to sync as possible. In the case of a music video the music is everything.
