Hi, I posted a couple weeks back about an audio glitch error “General Error” we kept getting while trying to master a 30 min. show. Our setup is that we are working in DVCPRO50 Anamorphic and we shot with the A Panasonic SDX 900 and we are editing on a FCP 5.12. First off, when we imported, and just tried a straight capture, the audio was slipping near the end of the tape. We got past that by doing batch captures. Then we edited, that was fine till the mastering section.

    1. We would have our Master Timeline. with all the audio running across 6 channels.

    2. We’d create 2 more sequences: Anamorphic(Which just added 2 more channels of audio: Stereo on 1 & 2 and Mono on 3&4) and Letterbox(Same audio setup)

    3. Once we broght the master timeline over and did the audio/video mixdown of sorts, the timelines would light up the bright red color for rendering.

    4. We would go through the whole render, and would get “General Error” and those render files would be linked to the Audio crossfades.

    5. We worked around it two ways over the past two weeks: first, I just exported a reference audio file out, and brought it back in, and set it in place, waa-la, worked. The other way we did was just re-do those audio crossfades, or manually do it. But it shouldn’t do this every time, and so far we have now been coming across this problem more and more.

Our setup is a Dual 2.7 Ghz, 8 gb of ram, 7.0 TB XRAID on the FCP 5.12

    Any thoughts????

    Thanks
