    Hello All,

I’ve got a question for the good people of this forum. I have a JVC GY HD100 camera (HDV) and have been thinking about upgrading to the Kona card so that I can ingest it as DVCProHD. I have also been thinking about going a different direction and purchasing the JVC FireStore drive, which would negate the need for capturing, thus saving quite a bit of time (but I would remain in the ominous land of HDV. Of course we would still record to tape as a backup). Alot of what we do requires green shooting, which I have had good but not great results keying out and editing in HDV. Would there be a signifigant upgrade to capturing as DVCProHD when keying the footage in post? I know HDV is quite a bit more compressed than DVCProHD, but is that compression done in camera or if captured in DVCProHD would the footage be less compressed, thus better to key.

    Thanks!
