using 30″ apple cinema
Is anybody using ONE 30″ Apple Cinema for FCP? I just set up a system, but it looks pretty crammed with the one monitor. Any suggestions? Should I buy an additional 20″ monitor for bins? What do you do?

What resolution do have your 30″ set at? I use my 30″ set at 2560×1600 and it works for me. I was using 2 x 20″ CRT’s before and this is much cleaner and faster. You could always hook-up another monitor for more real estate.

I’d been using 2 23″ Cinemas for nearly 4 years until I started using a 30″
It is a different way of working but you can get the viewer windows running at 100%
size when anamorphic. I thought I wouldn’t like it, but it grows on you.Going back to 23’s makes them look small, but an LCD infont of the client to point to
clips in bins is pretty handy.If you are doing Photoshop, Dreamweaver or any other combination of those type of apps
the 30 is way the best.I’m off to find another fence

My screen display only gives resolutions up to 1200 X 800. That’s the highest option. How do i get it to 2560×1600? That sounds like the perfect fix.

Hi,
Are you using a Graphics card that supports the resolution for the 30″ display – dual link?
If you are, maybe it has 2 connectors and only one of them is dual link.
That is all I can think of.

I’ve got a GE force 6600. It came with the Mac G5 Quad. Will this not work?

Maybe one output is a dual link. Have you swapped the 30″ connector over to the other port and tried the display properties again?
