  • Onlining Sequence with lots of QT imports

I’m trying to uprez to 1:1 a sequence that contains a number of sources that I obtained as QT files and imported. When I create an offline project, most of my new project clips look fine. Clips that came from tape are offline, and pictures and imported audio are still online. But clips based on files that I imported as Quicktime Movies have also gone offline, and FCP 4.5 has invented source names for some, but not all, of them.

If I try to reconnect the clips to the original source files, the time codes no longer line up and I get the wrong part of the clip. I am used to working on an Avid, which allows you to batch import non-tape based sources to your online decomposed sequence.

Any ideas as to how I can get the QT-based clips to line up correctly with my QT source files? And how to avoid this mess in the future?

    FCP 4.5
    Dual 2.0 G5
    10.4.3

    Thanks!
