Exercise your Right to Vote!
Posted by Walter Biscardi on November 7, 2006 at 2:21 pmAll those in the United States, please take time to exercise your right to Vote in today’s national elections. Yes we’re all busy and we all have deadlines, but our freedom to vote is one thing that should never be taken for granted or ignored.

November 7, 2006 at 2:57 pmAn excellent reminder, Walter. I’ll be partying when the polls close tonight! Thanks from the newest city to your south, Johns Creek.

I’ll just be happy when the negative ads FINALLY stop on local TV.
This has been the nastiest race in memory. And the most expensive as well.
Sometimes we just have to vote for the least offensive of the lot. Too bad we can’t vote for “None of the above”. Oh well, life goes on…

November 7, 2006 at 5:32 pmThe top movie this week pokes fun at Kazakhstan, but they have 64.3 percent voter turnout since 1945, compared to 48.3 for the United States.

November 7, 2006 at 5:34 pmHey – be grateful you don’t live in the UK, and face overwhelming voter apathy as a result of being forced to choose between two basically incompetent, corrupt, self serving parties neither of whom are worth….
oh wait.

NEVER post anything like that when I’m unsuspecting and drinking coffee. That was so brilliantly funny, I did the old coffee spew onto the floor. Just brilliant Ben! 🙂

November 7, 2006 at 5:41 pm“exercising the right” “freedom to vote”. It’s true where I live in Vermont and elsewhere, but sadly, it’s not true all over the U.S.
What I like about this little OT thread is that nobody is name calling or pushing one political philosophy over another.

I think we have all those negative campaign spots to thank for that; who wants to get nasty after having endured a couple of months of mud-slinging?”Amen to that. I’m actually voting for a candidate here just because the other candidate did an incredibly stupid negative ad. Really hate that and it makes me glad I just work in my little corner of the work trying to entertain people.

November 7, 2006 at 6:35 pmI’ve contemplated the idea that there should be some option like that. Perhaps a certain percentage of voters have to turn out or a certain percentage of voters that DO turn out have to actually pick a candidate. If they chose none of the above then it counts to an invisible 3rd party of sorts. It’d be a way to vote that you’re unappy without voting for someone you probably think is just as bad. “None of the above” would most likely be the clear winner in many elections. 🙂
