audio problem
ok. so I started on a wedding project for my cousin and hit a problem straight away. I imported an Audio track into the browser then pulled it to the viewer where it plays back fine. So i insert it into the timeline and when I play the track in the timeline it crackels playes slow and sounds horrible. I have converted the audio so it matches my sequence settings. I have never had this problem before.
It is the first time on a HD project but I can’t see that effecting the audio?….can someone please help me as I cant progress untill I figure it out.

Your timeline (sequence) audio setting don’t match your imported audio settings, so when it attempts to play back your audio in the timeline format, it is not keeping up.
It’s a classic problem in FCP, especially with mp3s and Audio CD-sourced files.
I presume this wedding video is going to end on DVD-Video (PAL). If so, go to Final Cut Pro>Easy Settup

I’ve had a couple of similar problems recently, one of which was SD and one HD… In one case it was exactly as you describe, with broken up audio on the timeline – and it’s obviously got nothing to do with sequence settings…
I fixed that one by starting a new timline in the project, after trashing the prefs. The second time I had to reinstall FCP, although it was on a system with a faulty video card, so…
I wonder if anyone else has seen this recently?
