CC effects in AE
Posted by Benjamin Garst on January 4, 2007 at 11:33 pmHey there. So I am pretty new to AE and I was looking at the tutorials on Fractal Noise, and when I got to the one on combining effects, I found that my version of AE does not have the CC Glass, and CC Force Motion Blur. I am using version 7.0 at work to do the tutorials, and I have 5.5 & 6 at home (I haven’t done your tutorials on those versions). So I was wondering how I get a hold of those effects… if they are downloadable, or if I have to purchase them or what. Any help would be great and this site is amazing. Thanks again.

January 5, 2007 at 3:08 amThe CC effects come on the After Effects disks but need to be installed separately. They may only come with Professional, not sure. You also can purchase them. Go to https://cycorefx.com/ for more info.

January 5, 2007 at 4:54 pmI am pretty sure that all vesions of AE 7 come with the CC effects, unlike previous versions – in which only non-educational versions included the plug-ins.

January 5, 2007 at 5:51 pmAharon is correct. All versions of AE7, including Production Studio, have the Cycore effects available on the install disc. For Production Studio, it’s on disc 1. I think I wrote a techdoc about this once… ah, yes, here it is:

January 8, 2007 at 10:37 pmOk, hopefully this is my last question on the matter… I got the CC effects off of disc on of the studio package, but when I tried to render a project with a cc effect used it froze up the computer. Is that normal? is the computer where I work crap? I couldn’t figure it out and I have not had any problems with rendering with all other files. Thanks again.

January 9, 2007 at 6:23 pmobviosuly that’s not normal. Have you tried shutting down and restarting AE, or your computer? If that doesn’t work, try re-installing the CC effects.
