Keypress to move down a row, when entering data into columns
Surely somebody somewhere has found out how it is possible to enter data into columns in the browser and to move the cursor down to the next row?!?!?!?
Is it me or is there some blindingly obvious way to do it? You press tab, this moves you to the next column. You press return and it enters the data and stops. The only way to select the next one down appears to be bly clicking on in, and accurately at that.
I’ve been trying to come up with a solution using quickeys or ikey, has anybody managed this?
This is really slowing me down. exporting to a batch file and doing it in another application I know is available to me but I’d much rather do it in FCP. I’m still on 4.5 though maybe it was fixed in 5?

Can you give an example? What sort of data are you filling in that you need to do it vertically?

Scene and Take?

If you want to give a bunch of clips the same scene number, then enter it on the first clip. Select the remaining clps and right-click in the Scene column. You will be able to select any previously entered scene number from the shortcut menu.
I suspect Ralph is logging offline clips, in which case the above tip won’t help much!
