    Its very easy and it only costs $49 per software set you own. That’s cheap compared to the features available in FCP 5.1 over 5.0.4.

    Yeah, but in hindsight (I sent in my discs last week) it sure is a final change, what if you want to go back to 5.0 for some reason? It’s gone.

    Well, that’s where you need to have a backup of your system drive on an external firewire device. You can get a copy of Carbon Copier (which is free) and make a close of your system drive on a backup, so if you need to go back for some unknown reason you can. BUT keep in mind that FCP projects are NOT backward compatible.

    There’s no major gotchas that I know of that means you would need to go back!
