  How to render movie for film output anamorphic 2.35:1?

  hi guys,

  iam back with my doubts 🙂
  i made a movie in pal DVD format720x576.
  now i recreated it in film resolution 2048×1556 anamorphic 2.35:1.

  I donno how to render the output to project it in theater.

  can anybody help me please?

  Do you mean you want to transfer to film?

  In that case I’d contact your transferhouse for their specs. I usually deliver 16-bit tifs, or sgi files.

  thank you Barend for the reply. hope i got your name right.
  actually this is my first project.
  i was asked for TV output now they want it for theater output.
  i want to know what should be the composition size to make an anmorphic 2.35:1 render.
  could you also tell me the actually process how you would do it.

  Hi Naveen,

  They (I assume it’s your client) asked for a version for theater output?

  Did they specify whether it will be screened on a videoprojector, or an actual film print?

  So you recreated the project in anamorphic 2k at 24fps?

  Most transferhouses can deal with a wide range of files, from tifs to dpx and sgi files. I usually render to a 16-bit tif sequence for transfer to film.

  Make sure you include audio as a wav file of exactly the same length as the image sequence.

  what if he is projecting it from a vedioprojector.
  can we use pal dvd 16.9 widescreen render for vedioprojection?

  That would work.

  The issue with video projection is that you need to know what source they will use to feed the projector. This can be anything from a DVD player to a computer playing a quicktime or a high-end frameserver to feed a 4k projector…

  But if they are playing back on a DVD player, that’s what you need to deliver.
