I have a project where I need to import edited video files from a PC using Vegas 6 into my FCP system. The question is what files format should the files be rendered to in Vegas to give me the best quality in FCP?

What format are they in in Vegas? What format are you working in FCP? If DV, then export as DV Quicktime. If uncompressed AVI then output as 8 or 10 bit uncompressed.

The files are NTSC DV on the Vegas system and will go into a DV sequence on the Final Cut system. Will the Vegas render files as Quicktime DV?

    Don’t see why not.

Or you can just load the DV files into the MAC
    and use QT to convert…
Just did this for a show…
We converted the DV to DVCPRO 50 as we
had interviews and some B-roll in DVCPRO 50…
Everything looked so much better than editing in DV….
