dropped frames
Can anyone tell me why I might be dropping frames (and receiving the error message prompt)?
This happened a couple of times yesterday on two different sequences. The only thing that worked was exporting a quicktime and reimporting that into a new project/ timeline. However, the sequences I’m working with are 40+ minutes and I would like to bypass any unnecessary render time.My timeline setup is AJA Kona LS- NTSC 8 bit to DVCPro50
Sequence Preset: AJA Kona LS: 525 29.97 DVCPro50
Capture Preset: AJA Kona LS: 525 29.97 DVCPro50
Device Control preset: AJA Kona LS: 29.97 Sony VTR
Playback Output Video: AJA Kona 525i29.97 8 bit (720 x 486)
Playback Output Audio: AJA Kona
Edit to Tape/PTV Output Video: same as playback
Edit to Tape/PTV Output Audio: same as playbackI am using two external drives: a 500 GB G-Drive and a 500 GB Lacie, both running off firewire 800 (I plugged both directly into my ATI Radeon 9650 graphics card today). The 30 fps footage I’m using is being imported via Beta tapes and a Sony Betacam SP deck. The computer I’m using is a Power Mac G5 with FCP 5.0. I have approximately 100 GB left on each drive, including my internal, and I plan on creating more space today.
Thanks. I appreciate any insight and info you are able to share
