4:3 title safe filter?
hey does anyone know of a 4:3 title safe RT filer that could be used as a guide when placing text in a 16:9 project so insuring the text is 4:3 safe?
i think i recall maybe that digital heaven had something like this??

even better they have just the filter i was looking for called DH widesafe…a really great plugin which even includes BBC/EBU specs for those of us residing in the old empire!
it’s double the price of the other DH filters so I imagine it must be popular…but they are still a steal for the price!

If you need this all the time $40 isn’t much, but the simple old school way would be to view a black slug in the canvas window at 100% and turn on the title safe. Then press shift+apple+4 and lasso a screen shot of the area. Then simply place that resulting still in the middle of your widescreen canvas and use the screen composite mode to drop out the black. You could also take it into photoshop first and create a more standard alpha channel tiff or something that you just drag into the timeline. You could also create a matted clip that you drop in that mattes out the left and right while also showing title safe, etc.
