  • create a sequence with exact settings of a clip

Often I use source clips that I bring into FCP and want to edit natively, without having to render.
Problem is, if I created a sequence and one setting in the sequence is different from the source clip, the clips will not play down in the sequence before rendering.

Is there a way to created a sequence based on all the various parameters of a source clip?

I think the trick to this is to highlight the clip, then right-click and select ‘make multiclip sequence’ and make sure the option to automatically create a sequence is selected. This should create a sequence with your clip in it and the settings should match.

I’m not at FCP right now, but I think that’s right.
