Just wondering if anyone has a preference ? :-
    a) express card to pci convertor to run video i/o plus fw800 storage
    b) aja io fw video i/o,plus express card to sata convertor to run sata storage
This would be for straighforward editing,up to uncompressed SD.
    Thanks for any input,
    William Watts.

The eSATA drives would serve you much better than FW 800 drives, so the better solution is the IO and the eSata card and array.

    Will,
I’m running what you describe and have great success. I am running the AJA Io via firewire… and using the SeriTek expresscard adaptor to run G-Technology’s G-Sata for storage.

    I hope this helps.

Maybe you can help me out. I have the MacBook Pro 17′ with 2GB of ram. I want to use Final Cut Pro HD and be able to have the Panasonic 26′ HD monitor for reviewing playback. Will the aja lo let me do that? Also I want to purchase the Seritek expresscard adapter with there 2 bay enclosure and 2 Western Digital Caviar 250 GB drives. I thought the G-Sata only had firewire 400 and 800. As for audio can I monitor the audio with the aja with JBL Professional speakers?
I’m new to this so any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what inputs the monitor has, what’s the model no ? AJ I/O will provide component analogue video out for monitoring or use the MBP dvi monitor out.I don’t have personal experience with it,but the Seritek bundle looks like it is designed for this usage.G-Technology make ‘G-Raid’ drives which are only fw400 & 800,but they also make G-Sata drives. The I/O ld that I’m looking at has balanced xlr audio monitor outputs.
    Regards,
    Will.
