    1. Does it handle the canon HDV 24p codec?
    2. Is anyone using it with the sony HDV z1? I need to see if the “stream error? issues have been resolved.
    Thank You in advance

    2) What “stream error issues”? Please elaborate.
I have no issues with Z1 footage. The only HDV issues I am relate to files rendered to the HDV codec in AE7

whenever I’m ingesting footage in from a z1 or the HDV deck I get an occasional “stream Error” message that stops the deck and saves footage up to that point. I restart & move on but there’s about 5 seconds of footage I can’t acquire whenever that happens. It’s not a time code break and seems to be random. It’s not on start/stop, not on a new scene, not on swish pans … it seems to happen … whenever it needs to aggrivate me. Apple has to date. told me that they know of no known error, but it happens in FCP and there’s a screen that a programmer must have written, because I’m not a programmer and it’s there. It didn’t write itself. FCP is great, but I doubt it’s AI capabilities allow it to write it’s own code. (yet!)
    BUUUUTTTTT! I’m not bitter.
    Thanks everyone.

That’s a programmer’s error code. What’s the computer exactly? What’s the deck? What are the drives? How’s everything connected? BTW what format is this exactly?

    All the best,

    Tom

the machine is a dual 2.0 with osx.4. Max ram. The deck has been the canon camera, the sony camera (Each with their own tapes.) and the sony seperate record deck. It’s happened with each. The drives? Internals. Whatever the g5 came with. I normally do DVCPRO HD 1080 & 720 with no problems, so I don’t think it’s the machine. The format is HDV and it’s connected via firewire. If you have any ideas, you’ll be the first I’ve heard from that has seen this. I don’t think I’m alone, but I may be.
    THANKS
