  Need help with a 3:30 minute clip for the web

  I have a 3:30 minute clip that I have edited in FCP, and now I need to get it on my website. I don’t have much web knowledge, but my web guy said to shoot for the 5-10 meg range. Is this possible with a 3:30 clip, while still maintaining quality ?

  Which formats would be most widely viewable to others who visit the web page ? Any advice on codecs or other settings for getting this thing down in size ? I used the H264 codec and got a quality clip, but its 30 megs. I’d like to at least get it down to the 10-15 range while maintaining quality.

  Think about who your audience is before deciding on QT, WMV, etc. Do you want to reach the largest
  number of people? Are they media savvy, so they’ll have QT installed? How big does the image need to be?
  H.264 is very good quality, but viewers need QT, and the latest version, v7, at that. WMV will reach the
  largest number of people because the player comes with Windows, but Mac users have to install the player
  to view it. Do a search of the posts here, and the Compression, and Web Streaming forums for tips. It’s been
  discussed over and over again.

  P.S. Don’t use Real at all, it’s a dying format with the least market penetration.
