  Final Cut Pro, DVCPRO 50, Sync Issues

  Hi,

  I started a post earlier today on this same issue, but here are the new revelations that we have come accross recently. We are having issues with Final Cut Pro 5.1 and capturing our DVCPro 50 footage. We captured the footage with the easy setup of DV50 anamorphic, which is at 48 KHZ, and it would start off in sync then it would gradually drop out of sync. Then we did a test at 44.1 KHZ and that stays in sync, but we shouldn’t be editing at 44.1 khz, we want to get this right. What should we do?

  We shot the film with the SDX 900 at 29.97 fps and I can’t get to the bottom of this issue.

  Make sure you deck is setup correctly and it is sending out a dv50 signal and not a dv25 signal. Also, make sure your tapes are in fact shot in DV50 and not dv25 (this is possible with the SDX).

  I seemed to have solved this issue by changing the timecode break to “warn after capture” Will keep posted. Thanks
