  • HELP!!! I CAN’T EXPORT MY HDV PROJECT!!

Posted by Julie Hill on September 24, 2006 at 7:40 am

It’s a long one… 2.5 hrs. It’s the edit from hell and if I have to do it all over again I’m might shoot myself!

I’ve tried everything… print to tape, just plain exporting it as a quicktime movie, and nothing works. According to the timeline, everything is fully rendered by when I “print to video”, it says “conforming HDV”. It only takes a few minutes, but gets stuck around 52%, then goes all the way through to 100% then I get a screen that says: “General Error”. Agh!!! I thought maybe it’s getting stuck at a certain filter or something, so I took all filters off of the clip that it seems to get stuck on. I eventually need this downconverted to on to a DVD (I was going to print to tape then recapture it via downconverting) but since I can’t even GET IT to go back to tape, I’ve nested the sequence and threw it into a NTSC DV anamorphic sequence (changed the field order to “upper”) and set it to render. I’m working on a G5, but it says it said it was going to take about 28 hrs. to render… so I waited. After it’s done rendering, I still have a red bar over half of the timeline!!! Double Agh!! (And yes, I have all the render settings checked on in the render menu). So then I trashed the preferences hoping that would solve the problem, but no. Please someone help me… it plays fine from the timeline… if only HDV would show up in my camera then I could just hit the play button and record. I’m so frustrated!! Does anyone know if the Sony HDV Deck allows you to do this? I’d go out and rent one if it would solve my problem. Help!!!

    Hi.
Whenever I got a “General error”, I do the next:
    – Open your project.
    – Open a new project.
    – Select EVERYTHING from the brownser of your project and drop it in the new’s project brownser.
    – Save and try.
Try that because normaly its works.
    Salud,
    Rafael
