  What will happen if I Install instead of Upgrade?

  I need to upgrade my FCP from 4.5 to 5.0, but was given a Final Cut Studio Install disc instead of an Upgrade disc. Trying to install the newer version obviously isn’t working because there’s already a version installed. However, i’m worried that if I uninstall the previous Studio version then install the later version, will my G5 go haywire?

  You can put your 4.5 install in another folder and run both versions. (just not at the same time). If it were me though, I’d reformat a startup disk and do a totally clean install…
