  • DV footage has a juddder even after render

Posted by Ciller on September 20, 2006 at 10:14 am

I am using Digibeta footage in an uncompressed 10 bit seq and a small amount of DV footage
however after i render the footage and watch it back the digi is good but the DV has a bad judder.
it s like the field domminance is set wrong but ive tried upper lower and not set but to n avail.
This problem however appears to stop when i view the sequence through my computer monitor instead of through my sony monitor through the AJA Kona card?

    Hi,
I have a BM and work in PAL. When I work in a 10b (Up-first in PAL) sequence and I bring DV (Low-first) the video cards correct the fields order. But the problem is that FC try to do the same (by applying a Shift-fields filter) and the final result is that the field order is wrong again. You must uncheck the filter applied to you clips and when rendering its looks OK.
May be happens the same with the AJA.
    salud,
    Rafael

You will have to reposition the DV clip vertically by 1 pixel in any 601 sequence to avoid field reversal.

By chance, is the color red involved?
