    Hi,

I jsut was wndering whether ist is possible to somehow ‘translate’ a tutorial of a meltel plate or text from photoshop to AE using just the standard tool set.

    Something like this …
    https://phong.com/tutorials/wire/

Would be nice to get a little slow smooth movment in there, wouldn’t it?

So far I was not able to find anything using the search, maybe someone around can point me into the right direction.

    Thanks.

You’d have to use the equivalent AE filters of course like Alpha Bevele and Drop Shadow. You’d also have to use multiple instances of those effects and multiple layers. Check my tutorial about creating shading effects here at the COW. Also, if you like, follow the link in my signature to my website and download the text styles. Though all the effects are applied to text layers, you can use them with any type of image as long as it has proper Alpha. since they are rigged with expressions, it should be easy to tweak them for your purposes.
