Help Needed in Making Quicktime Movie for Web
I am trying to create QT movies of my short widescreen nature montages for streaming on the web. These clips originated in 23.98 footage (24PA) from my Panasonic DVX100a.
The person I am sending them to gave me these instructions:
“Sorenson compression is available as a choice within Final Cut. Specifically you want to choose Sorrenson III (light version – may not actually say ‘light’).
Limit the bandwidth to 350K/second. Key frame every 150 frames.
You may want to save another version with a bandwidth limit of 150K/second – same key frame rate.
Pixel x pixel could be either 720 x 480 (try this first), or 1/2 of this rate (360 x 240).
You should then have a quicktime file that looks very good on a website. ”
I have my sequence preset at 23.98 and my timebase set to 29.97, with the rest of the settings as above. The problem is that when I follow these instructions I find that the resulting QT clip will have black frames every now and then that were not in the FCP file, and that the last 20 seconds of the original file does not get converted to QT. Fore some reason I have been able to get two of the clips to convert at 720×480 but none of them will at 360×240. Do you have any idea what this might be and how I can remedy the situation? Many thanks!
