    Hi FCP People

I’m struggling with a friends rather old FCP 2 system and clips that once played fine are now out of sync about 1.5 secs. Not on the timeline, but within the bins.

This is of couse all under OS9 and I’m just going through various checks to see if I can rectify the situation – be it OS related or FCP related. So I’m re-building the desktop and verifying/repairing the disks. My next step was to trash FCP user settings – I just don’t know where they live.

Any pointers and anyone else had this lovely experience before? Am I doomed to re-sync all material as I drop it on the timeline?

Media is playing off a Lacie d2 Extreme external using firewire 400.

    Thanks.

    Ben

How are you monitoring the video and the audio?

    Also –

Endless “Preparing Video For Display” dialogues and now it’s playing back dropping frames…

    Argggggh.

    Ah the plot thickens…

Just looked at it through a PD150 and the video isn’t even moving, just a frozen frame on the camera (while it plays very jerkily in the canvas window).

Quicktime files play fine if viewed through QuickTime Player…
