I’m trying to lay the final edit down using edit to tape. The audio insert button is only allowing me to select four channels of audio. When I playback the timeline, I can see all 6 channels on the deck. But when I use edit to tape, I’m only getting 4. Help!

check your device control presets to make sure you have mapped enough audio channels

Not sure what you mean by mapping audio channels in device control presets. My audio outputs all have 6 channels. The device control preset I am using is AJA Kona 1080i29.97 Sony VTR A. That is set by the easy Setup.

dnt have the Kona so can’t say what the default audio mapings are for that setup

but if you go to your audio/video settings window (cmd-opt-q) switch to the device control presets tab, scroll down till you see your chosen preset and double click it
amongst the other settings you will see “Audio Mappings” … this controls how many audio tracks your device control can handle … if its only set to 4 then you will not be able to enable and disable tracks 5 & 6 through the ETT windows’ destination tracks popup.

    Thank you.
It says “Audio Device Control mapping (Ch1-8) 4 Channels. It’s SDI audio so there are 2 channels per channel (so to speak) It should be working. When I try assemble, I get all 5 tracks, but it’s resetting my timecode. This is the first time I have used this setup and Edit To Tape. I appreciate your fast response.

In your timeline, do you have 6 audio channel output set up? And then you have your proper audio channels mapped to the correct output channel?

when you do assemble it is giving you everything … that the nature of an assemble edit , no fine control
with insert you have to specify what you want, and you can only specify for those channels that are active.

your understanding of channels is steering you a little off kilter here … change the device control settings audio mapping to 8 channels and see if you now can control the insert mapping in the ett window.

plus if it works please go back to the apple discussions and mark your thread solved!

    hope it does work
    cheers
    Andy
