  Firewire 800

  I was thinking about buying a lacie little big drive with 2 firewire 800 ports and one 400. I will use the 400 to connect to my laptop. My question is, can I plug my older cannon dv camera into the 800 port, or does it have to be a camera that supports firewire 800. It doesn’t say anything about this in the manual.
